 Lindsey, Meg, and Carolyn: The many phases of the kettlebell swing. At the start, athletes hinge at the hip, closing the angle between their torso and thigh (Meg). To initiate, they aggressively "stand up," squeezing their glutes to open the hip (Lindsey). The kettlebell swing finishes overhead with the athlete keeping their midline tight (Carolyn).
