What was your fitness background before you started at CFCL, and what made you decide to try CrossFit?
Prior to CrossFit, I trained martial arts and had one-on-one personal trainers. I trained a minimum of three days weekly with a concentration on kettlebells, lunges and heavy bag work.
My coaches were excellent and I enjoyed training. Years ago I watched the Crossfit Games on television and have been intrigued. Last year, I competed in a several adventure races and knew that if I was going to improve in future races I would need to improve my fitness and begin training CrossFit.
What has been your biggest accomplishment since starting with us, and what are you working on now?
My biggest accomplishment was surpassing my May goal of twenty training sessions. I set a goal of 20 and was able successfully trained 22 times in the month of May.
My body felt great. The time commitment was difficult with my work schedule but I was very proud of the accomplishment.
What's your favorite CrossFit movement?
Body weight exercises are my favorite. Crossfit to me means variation. Every workout is different! Imagine a different workout every time you train.
Prior to Crossfit my workouts were too familiar. Although I could peek on CrossFit City Line's website, I enjoy the variety and not knowing what each days work out of the day will be prior to entering the box.
What is your favorite quote and why?
You're as happy as you make up your mind to be.
We have two ears and one mouth for a reason.
Life is short: Smile and Have fun.
What is the last thing you Googled?
Mindset Coaching! I've had the most success in my life both business and personally when I've been committed to accomplishing goals. Recently, I have not been prioritizing goal setting and need to get back on track.
If you had to replace your hands, what would you replace them with and why?
Laser beams which could both zap and retract objects of course the beams could warm my food and lift heavy objects if I become tired during a WOD!
