What was your fitness background before you started at CFCL, and what made you decide to try CrossFit?
In high school I played football and wrestled. During college I played D3 football at WPl. Post college I went from mens league basketball, to softball, to flag football. But nothing really filled the void left by contact sports. Eventually I joined a rugby team and played for 5 years or so. This past year I decided I had to stop playing rugby because I am getting too old.
If I am being honest in the past I was a CrossFit skeptic. But my fiancée Kelly (CFCL member) started going and it became too hard to see how much she got out of her workouts, while I would just meander around a BSC. I ended up giving CrossFit a try and really enjoyed it. Credit to the coaches and members at CFCL.
What goals are you working on right now?
Dang. Currently I feel like I am working on everything. If I had to narrow it down though, I’d say pull ups, strict and kipping.
A more general goal I have is attendance. I have been trying to attend class 4+ times a week. Which is easier said than done. Also I’m trying to lose weight and get shredded for summer.
What's your favorite CrossFit workout?
Tough Question! I really don’t have a favorite. I’d say I enjoy workouts with running mixed in and workouts with sled pushes.
Who is/was your favorite super hero and why?
Batman. He is the most gritty of the super heroes.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
I would probably be a Vine Star. Vine was an app a few years ago where people could make 7 second long videos. It has been defunct for a while (RIP Vine). I had two followers my little brother and my fiancée Kelly and neither of them thought I was funny. But I thought I was funny and had great potential.
If you could only watch 5 movies for the rest of your life, what would they be?
1. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
5. The Intern (Kelly made me add this. I can’t explain why, but this movie is always on TV and I always love to watch it.)
